Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Reverend Jerry Bruce Kanipe, Sr. and daughter of the late Jesse James Stepp and Pauline Hunsinger Stepp. She was a graduate of Gaffney High School, retired from Hamricks and Wal-Mart, and a member of Cornerstone Church. She especially enjoyed her time with her two sons, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She especially enjoyed her time with her two sons, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are two sons, Scott White (Paula) and Terry White (Jamie), both of Gaffney; two stepsons, Jerry Bruce Kanipe, Jr. (Heather) of Boiling Springs, S.C. and John David Kanipe (Tina) of Spartanbu, S.C.; two stepdaughters, Phyllis Spivey (Butch McKeehan) of Spartanburg and Angelia Byars (Gregg) of Cowpens, S.C.; three sisters, Barbara McCraw of Georgetown, S.C., Virginia Harris and Joyce Garrison, both of Gaffney; eight grandchildren, Crystal Maxwell (Derek), Michael Guyton, Emily Rockwell (Jeff), Luke White (Heather), Mollee Bagwell (Durand), Aaron White (Carrigan), Bradley White (Brandi) and Haley Humphries; fourteen great-grandchildren including a special great-grandchild, Malachi; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Guyton, a son, Jamie White, a brother, Wayne Stepp, and two sisters, Sally Huskey and Patricia Price. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 in Oakland Cemetery with Reverend Ron Singleton officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Cornerstone Church, 975 River Drive, Gaffney, S.C. 29340.
