Description	:	Sidney Charles Huntington was born on January 12, 1926 at Huron, SD to Harry and Gladys (Bankert) Huntington. He graduated from Hammond High School in Hammond, IN. He served his country during WWII in the 36th Division of the 2nd Armored in the US Army under General Patton. After being discharged he farmed in Dallas County and then began working at the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines as an operating room technician for 25 years. Sidney enjoyed fishing, golf, playing cards and he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the Woodward American Legion and the Woodward Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by parents, Harry and Gladys Huntington, one grandson Brett Huntington, a brother, Howard Huntington and a sister, Gayle Cox. He is survived by wife, June E. Huntington of Perry, IA, a son H. Scott Huntington and wife Jan of West Des Moines, IA, two daughters, Jana Crouse and husband Stephen, and Kay Sarchet and husband Dennis both of College Station, TX, a sister, Guyla Grassmick of Flossmore, IL, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
