Drane, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal church will officiate. Mr. Stewart was born in Union county October 17, 1879, the son of the late Robert L. and Mrs. Sarah Phifer Stewart. In early life he moved to Arkansas where he lived for 30 years, and there he married Mrs. Clara Greene Lord of Fort Smith. In 1940 he returned to Monroe and became associated with the L. N. Presson company. He was a member of the Vestry of St. Paul's Episcopal church and was the church treasurer at the time of his death. Besides his wife, he is survived by a sister, Mrs. W. F. Marsh of Monroe; three brothers, Plummer Stewart of Charlotte, Rev. S. A. Stewart of Mesa, Ariz., and Cyrus Stewart of Fort Myers, Fla. The Charlotte Observer Charlotte, NC November 4, 1947
