Mr. Hyatt was born in Union on September 15, 1938, a son of Fannie Ruth Gist Hyatt and the late Sidney S. Hyatt. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College. Mr. Hyatt retired from Milliken Company after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Bogansville United Methodist Church and the church's Men's Club. Mr. Hyatt was born in Union on September 15, 1938, a son of Fannie Ruth Gist Hyatt and the late Sidney S. Hyatt. He was a graduate of Jonesville High School and attended Spartanburg Junior College. Mr. Hyatt retired from Milliken Company after 42 years of service. He was a member of the Bogansville United Methodist Church and the church's Men's Club. A Mason, he was a member of Prudence Masonic Lodge # 139 in Jonesville. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a daughter, Linda Youngblood and husband Brent of Putman; two sons, Roger W. Hyatt and wife Vickie and Ben S. Hyatt and wife Jamie, all of West Springs; six grandchildren, Justin Ham and Brooke Ham, both of Union, Avery Hyatt, Shelby Hyatt, Dawson Hyatt, and Peyton Hyatt all of West Springs; two step-grandchildren, Will and Hunter Youngblood of Putman. Mr. Hyatt was predeceased by a daughter, Cathy Elaine Hyatt. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Bogansville United Methodist Church conducted by the Rev. Gary Peterson and Chaplain Wayne Cook. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Masonic Rites. Active pallbearers will be Justin Ham, Avery Hyatt, Bob Redman, Wayne Henderson, Tim Stevens, Ray Vinson, David Henderson, and Josh Brown. The following are asked to meet at the church at 2:45 PM to form the honorary escort: The Men's Club of Bogansville United Methodist Church, and Joey Conard, Sandi Ivey, Beth Bailey, and Jane Jones.
