Description	:	History of the Sharpe and Sturkie families states that Simpson Sturkie's first marriage was to Nancy Brown in 1897. They had one daughter, Martha. She was born in 1899 (1900 Federal Census of Lexington County). Nancy was accidentally killed by a hunter who thought his gun was not loaded. The location of Nancy Sturkie's grave is currently unknown. Martha married a Mr. Underwood and was living in Rome, Georgia in February 1937 (obituary of Marion D. Sturkie). Simpson and Mary Ann Sturkie had three sons, Marion, Oscar, and Henry and one daughter, Myrtle. Marion was shot and killed in 1937 at a country dance by Johnny Kneece, Oscar moved to McKeesport, Pennsylvania, and Henry was a carpenter and farmer in Woodford, South Carolina. There is no formation about Myrtle after the 1920 Federal Census. She was three years old at that time.
