Read More	Sister Mary Veronia Poole, SSND (née Margaret Poole) First Profession July 22, 1931 Motherhouse Baltimore, Maryland Sister Mary Veronia Poole, SSND, who taught from 1934 to 1981 at the Cathedral School, died Sunday of pneumonia at Carroll County General Hospital in Westminster. Between 1981 and 1984, Sister Veronia taught part time at St. John's School in Westminster. Later, she helped out in the convent there. When she started teaching at the Cathedral School, it was at 7 W. Mulberry St., across the street from the Basilica of the Assumption. Sister Veronia taught third-, fourth- and fifth-grade classes there and later at the present school on the grounds of the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, where her last assignment was as a fifth-grade language specialist. A friend described Sister Veronia as a "kind, patient, self-effacing person, who always had a smile for you." Before joining the faculty at Cathedral, she taught in Rochester, N.Y., and Glen Cove, N.Y. The former Margaret Poole was a native of the Bel Air area and attended Bel Air High School before graduating from the Institute of Notre Dame and the College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1927. Sister Veronia is survived by a brother, John Poole of Whiteford; a nephew, James Poole, also of Whiteford; and a niece, Mary Ann Walker of Parsonsburg.
