He had been ill since last September. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Philadelphia Congregational church. Solomon B. (Solly) Thiel was born at Ritzville on June 21, 1904, the son of Henry and Alice Thiel. He lived his entire life here, graduating from Ritzville high school. He had been ill since last September. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Philadelphia Congregational church. Solomon B. (Solly) Thiel was born at Ritzville on June 21, 1904, the son of Henry and Alice Thiel. He lived his entire life here, graduating from Ritzville high school. On Feb. 2, 1929, he was married to Marie Klettke. He worked for the Ford garage here while David Hoefel was proprietor, and later for the state highway department. He was a member of Philadelphia Congregational church and of the Eagles lodge here. Surviving are his wife, Marie, and a daughter, Lois M. Peters of Kent. There are two grandchildren, Kirk and Susan Peters of Kent, as well as four nieces and two nephews of Tacoma. Mrs. Marjorie Lefevre of Ritzville was a niece. Gordon Swyter sang "In the Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross," at the funeral services. His organ accompanist was Mrs. Herbert Haemmelmann. The Rev. Mr. Haemmelmann conducted the service. Pallbearers were Roy Betlatch, Larry Blandy, Paul Meyer, Richard Wahl, Jack Scheeler and Robert Danekas. Interment was at the Ritzville Memorial cemetery.
