Description	:	The Kansan – December 7, 1937 Solomon Dyson, resident of Center Township for many years, died on Thursday evening, December 2, following a short illness. He was 85 years of age. Mr. Dyson was born in Georgia in Sept., 1852, and is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lizzie Dyson, four children: Vern Dyson, Mrs. W. L. Garrison, Mrs. O.P. Pearce and Mrs. Alex Vignery; 21 grandchildren and two brothers, Tom Dyson of Hutchinson and John Dyson of Denver, Colo. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon, at the New Hope Church and burial was made in the Kendall Cemetery. 1937 Solomon Dyson Solomon Dyson was born at Blainesville, Georgia September 22, 1852, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.P. Pearce in Center Township Dec. 2, at the age of 85 years two months and 10 days. When a young man, he left his home in Georgia and went to Blackhawk, Co., where he worked on a freight line. He married there on May 25, 1878 to Lena Dorner who preceded him in death on April 13, 1933. In 1880, they came to Kansas and since that time this vicinity has been their home. To this union, four children were born, Vernard J. Dyson, Mrs. Maud Garrison, Mrs. Jose Pearce, all of Concordia; and Mrs. Annie Vignery of Aurora. On Sept. 14, 1937 he was united in marriage to Lizzie Householter, who with his children survives him. Also surviving are two brothers; Thomas Dyson of Hutchinson, Ks. and John Dyson of Denver, Co. one sister Grace Cowie of Washington, 21 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and a host of friends. He became a member of the New Hope church in Sept. 1912. Funeral services were held at the New Hope Church Dec. 5th, conducted by Rev. Warren Bivin, assisted by Rev. G. M. Hahn. Grandsons acted as pallbearers.
