Miller was born in Ohio, Feb. 2, 1836, and came to Marshall county in 1836. he lived in the Ferguson neighborhood for many years. Mrs. Miller died eighteen years ago, but six children survive their father. They are D.A. Miller, of Ferguson; S.E. Miller, of Wessington Springs, S.D.; Mrs. A.B. Hayes, Bismarck, N.D.; Amos A. Miller and Mrs. H. Gile, of Arlington S.D.; and Rufus Miller, of Tappen, N.D. Funeral services will be held in the Timber Creek cemetery, where burial will take place about 2:30 Wednesday afternoon. Marshalltown Times-Republican 22 Feb 1916, pg 7 Note: Solomon, along with his parents & siblings, migrated to Iowa from Ohio around 1855, not 1836.
