NOTES FROM RL MOON 1840 Census. Solomon O. Edwards is not listed in the 1840 census of Ashe Co., NC, although he reportedly married his wife, Mazy McMillan, on Jan. 19, 1839. They might have been living with Solomon's mother, Jane EDWARDS. (His father, David Edwards, died in 1828.) Jane's household (census page p.43) includes 1 white male age 20-29 and 1 white female age 20-29, possibly Solomon O. Edwards and his wife.
