He died Monday of this week, June 10, at the Everett sanitarium in Lincoln, Nebraska, where he had been taken a few days previous. G, 112th Illinois Volunteer Infantry, served the balance of the war and was discharged June 20, 1865. He was married to Miss Celestia Slaughter, Sept. 5, 1866. Six children were born to them, two dying in infancy. The wife died in Fillmore county May 29, 1887. The four children who survive the father now are Mrs. Grace Lillian, wife of Thomas Lancaster of Snohomish, Washington, Martin Hubbard of Pharr, Texas, Geo. W. Hubbard and Myrtle Celestia Stanton (Mrs. Joe Stanton) both of this community. Mrs. Lancaster and Mart Hubbard were unable to attend the funeral. The body was taken to Exeter from Lincoln and laid beside the wife. Mr. Hubbard has been a resident of this community for a long time, living on his farm a couple of miles east of Ord. When he became unable to longer manage it, he turned the management over to his son, George, but for the most art, has made his home there since. He has been ill more or less for several years and the cause of his death was stomach and bladder trouble. Deceased was a member of the local GAR organization. He was well known about town and since his failing health the past few years has had the hearty sympathy of many friends. Provided by contributor Kathy Burr
