Description	:	After a lingering illness of almost three years, during which time he had every attention and care, Mr Solvern O. Strand died early Wednesday morning at the home of Mr. Joseph Blumer, his father-in-law, on McDonald Avenue. He had been married less than two months when he was discovered suffering from tuberculosis of the spine, which disease was ultimately to be the cause of his death at the early age of 32 years. Strand died early Wednesday morning at the home of Mr. Joseph Blumer, his father-in-law, on McDonald Avenue. He had been married less than two months when he was discovered suffering from tuberculosis of the spine, which disease was ultimately to be the cause of his death at the early age of 32 years. Authorities on that disease were consulted in various parts of the country but no relief could ever be offered the young man who was compelled to suffer untold agony ere his life flame was extinguished. His faithful wife cared for him during the entire course of his illness, and only her wonderful attention prolonged his life and lightened the burden of his sufferings. Mr Strand was born in ND, where he spent his boyhood days, coming to this section of MT about sic years ago to take up a homestead on the north side near Hazel. He was married over three years ago to Miss Matilda Blumer, who survives him as the widow. He also leaves a father and two brothers in ND and a brother living on the northside near Terry. Funeral services were held in the Community Church on Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev W C Ross, assisted by Ms Weed and Mrs Bartley and Miss Williams, with two musical selections. The remains were taken to Ellendale that same day where interment was made in the family lot beside his mother, who died many years ago. Mr Strand was a wonderful character, suffering many years without a murmur and with a cheerful smile through it all. He had received a splendid training as a child and the latter years indicated his sterling worth as a man. He united with the Norwegian Lutheran church and was a member of his home church at the time of his death. He had lived his Christianity through all his years, but especially during the years of his illness and suffering.
