Description	:	Sophia Daeschner [maiden name] died April 22, 1935; married Henry Schirmer January 5, 1882, the wedding taking place at the home of the bride's parents near Preston NE. The new home was established on the farm three miles northwest of Holton where the major portion of her life was spent. As a young woman she came to Holton KS to visit her older sister, Mrs. William Meier, who at that time was mistress of the Evangelical parsonage. Upon the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. William [Mary] Schirmer, she gave her mother love and devotion to the four nieces now known... She leaves her husband, four sons, Walter W. Schirmer, Edward E. Schirmer, Clarence C. Schirmer of Holton KS, and Frank F. Schirmer, Bonner Springs KS; and three daughters, Mrs. Henry [Laura] Haag, Mrs. Will [Amanda] Stoll, and Kathryn F. Schirmer, all of Holton; 17 grandchildren; one grandchild, Franklin Haag, having preceded her in death. Also surviving, one sister Mrs. Mary Kaiser, Preston NE; and six brothers, Henry Daeschner, Preston NE; the Rev. William Daeschner, San Antonio TX; Frank Daeschner, Hiawatha KS; Prof. August Daeschner, Boulder CO; the Rev. Edward Daeschner, Morrowville KS; and Gideon Daeschner, Coffeyville KS.
