Description	:	OBIT: Mrs. Sophia Dewiscourt, widow of Mathias Dewiscourt, died last Friday in Seattle at the advanced age of 81. She and her husband were among the first settlers of the Kittitas Valley, having come here 43 years ago. At the time of her death she was making her home with her daughter, Mrs. H. E. Carscadden, also former residents of Ellensburg. Her health has not been good for two years. Mrs. Deiwscourt was born in Bremen, Germany, April 21, 1847. She came to America in 1864 with her parents and settled with them in Cincinnati. There, she married Mathias Dewiscourt in 1875. After moving to San Francisco the couple came to Washington and settled in this valley on a ranch, a mile north of the Sanders home ranch. Some years ago they left the farm and moved to town, Mrs. Dewiscourt dying in 1923. Surviving here are one daughter, Mrs. H. E. Carscadden of Seattle and four sons, Nick of Los Angeles, Henry of Seattle, John of Auburn and Emil of Centralia. Nick and Emil drove up from California upon learning of their mother's illness but were too late to see her before her death.
