Description	:	Sophia Jacobs Lengemann was born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin Germany, April 12th, 1862. Here she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1883 she came to the United States and settled in the state of New York. On April 17, 1884, she was united in holy wedlock with William Lengemann. In 1886 they came to Clayton county, Iowa, where they lived for three years, moving to Manilla, Crawford county, in the year of 1889, where they lived on a farm for twenty years. In 1909 they bought a farm near Coon Rapids, on which they lived for eleven years.... Read More	Sophia Jacobs Lengemann was born in Mecklenburg-Schwerin Germany, April 12th, 1862. Here she was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In 1883 she came to the United States and settled in the state of New York. On April 17, 1884, she was united in holy wedlock with William Lengemann. In 1886 they came to Clayton county, Iowa, where they lived for three years, moving to Manilla, Crawford county, in the year of 1889, where they lived on a farm for twenty years. In 1909 they bought a farm near Coon Rapids, on which they lived for eleven years. They moved to Coon Rapids in 1929, where they have lived until she passed away on February 8th, 1932. To this union eleven children were born. Two died in infancy, August on May 23rd, 1914, and Herman on April 17th, 1927. Mrs. Lengemann leaves to mourn her death, her husband, and the following children: Fred of Manilla; Mrs. John Joens of Manilla; John and Charles of Coon Rapids; Henry of Buffalo Center; Mrs. Hans Olesen of Guthrie Center; and Bernard of Gray. There are also thirteen grandchildren, one brother in Buffalo, N . Y., and other relatives and friends. After an illness of several months Mrs. Lengemann passed away on Monday, February 8th, 1932, a t 1 p . m. at the age of, 69 years, 9 months, and 26 days. Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 11th, 1932, at 1 p. m. a t the house, and a t 1:30 p. m. at the church. Words of comfort were spoken on 1 Cor. 15: 19-20. Members of Trinity Lutheran Ladies' Aid sang the hymn, "The Haven of Rest", in German. Burial was in the Coon Rapids cemetery. Rev. W. H. Friedrich officiating.
