Read More	Coon Rapids Enterprise January 27, 1933 William Lengemann, 80, a resident of this community for twenty-four years, died at his home here Sunday afternoon after being in failing health for about four years. Mrs. Lengemann preceded her husband in death by just about a year. Mr. Lengemann was born in Germany but came to this country about fifty years ago. He married Sophia Jacobs in New York state in 1884. For twenty years they lived on a farm near Manilla moving to a farm here in 1909. In 1920 they retired from farming and moved to town. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the house and at 2:00 a t the church. Rev. W. Friedrich, who officiated, took words of comfort from Rev. 2:10. Ladies of Trinity Lutheran church in Willow township sang "Asleep in Jesus". Burial was In the Coon Rapids cemetery. William Lengemann was born at Mecklenburg, Schwerin, Germany, July 4, 1852. Here he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. In the year 1882 he came to the United States, settling in the state of New York. On April 1884, he was united in holy wedlock with Miss Sophia Jacobs. Two years later they came to Clayton county, Iowa where they lived for three years. In 1880 they moved to a farm near Manilla, Crawford county, Iowa. Twenty years later, they bought a farm near Coon Rapids on which they lived for eleven years. They moved to Coon Rapids in 1920. To this union eleven children were born. Two died in infancy and two (August and Herman) died in young manhood. Mrs. Lengemann preceded her husband in death February 8, 1932. The deceased was in failing health for the last four years. On Sunday afternoon, January 22, 1933, Mr. Lengemann was called to his eternal home at a ripe old age of 80 years, 6 months and 18 days. He leaves to mourn his death the following children: Fred of Manilla, Mrs. John Joens of Manilla, John and Charles of Conn Rapids, Henry of Buffalo Center, Mrs. Hans Oleson of Guthrie Center, and Bernard of Gray. There are also thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson besides other relatives and friends.
