Description	:	Sophronia Gandy Eaton was born to George W. and Mary Gandy in 1828. She had a number of siblings; Elias, Diana, Mary J., and Aurelia. Sophronia was the married George W. Eaton on April 20th, 1856 in DeKalb, IL. Her husband served as the Postmaster in Appanoose, Franklin County, KS from 1975 until his death in 1879. After the death of her husband her son Dexter assumed the role of Postmaster until 1881. Sophronia then became the Postmaster in 1881 and served in that capacity until 1902 when the Postal Service closed that particular office. She is buried along side...
