He passed away at the Lincoln General hospital in Lincoln, Neb., August 7, 1928, at 11:30 a.m., aged 67 years, 7 months and 26 days. He came to Fillmore county with his family in the fall of 1885, locating on a farm in Chelsea township near Ohiowa. He retired from active work on the farm in 1916. Squire Jefferson Hall, son of George and Elizabeth Hall, was born November 11, 1860, at Lancaster, Schuyler Co., Mo. He passed away at the Lincoln General hospital in Lincoln, Neb., August 7, 1928, at 11:30 a.m., aged 67 years, 7 months and 26 days. He came to Fillmore county with his family in the fall of 1885, locating on a farm in Chelsea township near Ohiowa. He retired from active work on the farm in 1916. Since then he and his wife have lived at various places, the last few years being spent in Strang, Neb., where he was living at the time of his last illness. March 6, 1881, he was united in marriage to Martha Elizabeth Abbott at Lancaster, Mo. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive him. He was a devoted companion, a kind father and a helpful neighbor, always thinking more of the comfort of others than of that of himself. He will be greatly missed by those nearest and dearest to him. He was a patient sufferer for many months. All of his trials were borne silently; few words of complaint were ever heard from him. He leaves to mourn his departure, his faithful wife, five children, Willie A. of Grassrange, Mont., Mrs. Mollie E. Christiancy, Harry V. and Mrs. Florence M. Bailor, all of Geneva, Neb., and Claud J. of Ohiowa; one sister, Mrs. Tilda Kelso of Guthrie, Ok., two brothers, George of Red Cloud, Neb., and Louis of Lancaster, Mo., fifteen grandchildren, many other relatives and a host of friends. For God has marked each sorrowing day, And numbered every secret tear, And Heaven's long ages of bliss shall pay, For all His children suffer here. Short services were held at the home in Strang at 1 o'clock, Friday, August 10, other services following in the United Brethren church in Geneva at 2 o'clock, Rev. E. W. Thompson, paster of the church, officiating. Burial was in the Geneva cemetery. Relatives from a distance attending the funeral besides the son Willie from Montana, were Mr. and Mrs. George Hall of Red Cloud, Neb., Mrs. F. P. Kelso and daughter Mator and son Ray of Guthrie, Okla., and Mr. and Mrs. Will Smith of Angus.
