Description	:	Sister Evarista was the daughter of John Neuerburg and Anna Melur. She was an X-ray Technician and nurse. Jan 9, 1929 - Carroll Times - Sister M. Evarista, nurse and X-ray technician at St. Anthony hospital, died there New Year's evening at 8 o'clock. All that medical skill and knowledge could advise was of no avail, and she passed away peacefully and well prepared after an illness extending over two months. Funeral services were held at SS. Peter and Paul's church, Rev. P. Warzawa, chaplain of the hospital, singing the requiem mass, and interment was made in the parish cemetery.... K.G. Beyer chaplain of St. Rose convent, La Crosse, Wis., and a number of priests from the city and vicinity. The following relatives acted as pallbearers: Wm. Daiker, Julius Daiker, George Neuerburg, Walter Geocke, Lawrence Wurzer and Paul Kerper. Sister Evarista, known as Mary Neuerburg, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Neuerburg. She was born at St. Lucas, Iowa, September 1, 1870. Her parents moved to Carroll in 1873, where she continued to reside until 1895, when she entered St. Rose convent, La Crosse, Wis. She took up the profession of nursing at St. Francis hospital, LaCrosse and after a number of years of faithful service there, was sent to continue her work at St. Anthony hospital, this city. For over 21 years she devoted herself to the care of suffering humanity, and many will remember gratefully her kindness and consideration for the afflicted. She is survived by her brothers John and Frank Neuerburg of Perry Okla., and Henry of Carroll. Two sisters, Sister Natalia and Sister Adelgundis are also members of St Rose convent, La Crosse, Wls.
