Sixth Ave., in charge of arrangements. Adella Marie Lemmer was born Aug. 21, 1921, to Gertrude Marie (Witte) and Karl F Lemmer, in Madison, S.D. She attended St. Thomas Elementary School and Letcher Public and St. Thomas High School. She attended Notre Dame Junior College, Mitchell, S.D., Northern State College in Aberdeen and received a BSMT from Creighton University, Omaha, Neb. Sister did graduate studies and received her Masters degree at Ohio State University in 1973. Sister Scholastica entered Presentation Convent on Aug. 12, 1940, and made her profession of vows on Aug. 11, 1945. Sister Scholastica ministered as a medical technologist in McKennan Hospital, Sioux Falls, St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen and Holy Rosary Hospital, Miles City, Mont from 1943 until 1966. From 1970-1980, she lived in Aberdeen working at the convent and teaching Biology at Presentation College. Sister Scholastica worked as Staff Technologist in Central Arizona Medical Center and El Rio Neighborhood Health Center in Tuscon, Ariz. from 1982-1995. She retired to Presentation Convent in 1995 where she has resided until she became ill. Sister enjoyed crocheting, reading, and traveling. Sister Scholastica is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and two brothers. She is survived by the Presentation Sisters, and one brother Karl, and many nieces and nephews. Members of the Aberdeen Knights of Columbus Council served as active casket bearers. Published in the Aberdeen News on 1/3/2006.
