Description	:	Stanley G. Thomson, 91 of Mt. Pleasant died at 12:22 am Friday March 28, 2014 at home. He was born February 3, 1923 in Libertyville to George Ruben and Fern Margurite Riniker Thomson. Stanley graduated from Libertyville High School in 1941, helped his parents on the farm and began driving trucks at age 18. He later became an over-the-road semi driver and retired from Consolidated Freightways, Peru, IL at the age of 62. Pleasant died at 12:22 am Friday March 28, 2014 at home. He was born February 3, 1923 in Libertyville to George Ruben and Fern Margurite Riniker Thomson. Stanley graduated from Libertyville High School in 1941, helped his parents on the farm and began driving trucks at age 18. He later became an over-the-road semi driver and retired from Consolidated Freightways, Peru, IL at the age of 62. Stanley was an avid hunter and fisherman, was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Fairfield and had enjoyed wintering in Mission, TX the past 14 years. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, the former Jean Parcel, two sons, Philip Parcel of Batavia and Galen Thomson(Danielle)of Olds, three daughters, Leola Romine of Batavia, Rene Mession(Gerald)of Colfax, IL and Miriam Thomson of Kahoka, MO, a niece, Linda Parcel Connour of Windsor, CO, Ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren. His parents and an infant sister preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday March 31, 2014 in Faith United Methodist Church, Libertyville, Pastor Beth Bell officiating. Visitation with family present will be 10-11 am prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery, rural Libertyville. Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the church or mailed to the family at 404 East Becky Lane, Mt. Pleasant, IA 52641. Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua is handling the arrangements.
