Description	:	Stella passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 3, 2021 at Sunshine Health and Rehab in Spokane Valley. She was the sixth of seven children born on March 31, 1931 to George and Mabel Loshbaugh of Deer Park, Washington. Her childhood and adolescent years were spent helping on the family farm. Read More	Stella passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 3, 2021 at Sunshine Health and Rehab in Spokane Valley. She was the sixth of seven children born on March 31, 1931 to George and Mabel Loshbaugh of Deer Park, Washington. Her childhood and adolescent years were spent helping on the family farm. In 1947 Stella moved to Ritzville to begin work at the Ritzville Hospital. There she met her future husband (for the second time) Reuben Batt in 1948, where he informed her that he had just washed his car and took her for a ride, that rode into marriage on October 4, 1948, in Spokane. They resided in Ritzville, while Stella continued work at the hospital. In 1950, Stella and Reuben moved to Edwall and resided at Fiess Farms where they started their family. Stella eventually became the bookkeeper for Edwall Chemical Corporation where she worked for many years. Being a nurse was always one of Stella's goals. After leaving Edwall Chemical she returned to school and earned her degree and became a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Working at Sacred Heart Medical Center on 3North on the burn unit was where she took care of people for many years. She retired from Sacred Heart to the home she loved on Long Lake, where she had many years of pure enjoyment. Her husband Reuben preceded her in death in 2007. Her children Penny Ragsdale (Dave) Nine Mile Falls, Barbara Keogan (Kennewick), LaVerne Rettkowski (Reardan), Raymond Batt (Bothell), Russell Batt (Spokane); one brother Tunney Loshbaugh (Spokane); 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews survive her. A viewing will be held from 10-11:30 am at Ball and Dodd Funeral Home, 5100 W. Wellesley Avenue, Spokane, on Sunday, June 13th, followed by a graveside service at Riverside Memorial Park, 211 N Government Way, Spokane, WA 99224. All are welcome.
