Martin on July 8, 1943 in Malad, Idaho. Following WWII Vernon and Stella moved to Silver Creek, Nebraska where they built and operated Martin's Cafe. The couple later retired and moved to Missouri where she worked as a seamstress. In early 1980's they moved back to Silver Creek. In 2008 Stella moved to Crown Villa in Columbus.
