Description	:	East Wenatchee - Stella Irene Paukowich, 83, a longtime resident of East Wenatchee, died Wednesday, June 19, 1996, at the Colonial Vista Convalescent Center following an extended illness. She was born on Aug. 25, 1912, at Onaway, Mich., to Lambert and Mabel (Hart) Kimball. When she was a young child, they moved to Arkansas and North Dakota, before moving to Wenatchee in 1924. She was born on Aug. 25, 1912, at Onaway, Mich., to Lambert and Mabel (Hart) Kimball. When she was a young child, they moved to Arkansas and North Dakota, before moving to Wenatchee in 1924. At the age of 13, while attending school, she lived in other homes assisting new mothers with cleaning, cooking and caring for other children in their families. On Feb. 23, 1929, she married Fred G. Paukowich at the St. James Cathedral in Seattle, where they lived before moving back to Wenatchee in the fall of 1929. They bought property on Eden Road (now S.E. 8th) in East Wenatchee, where they operated an orchard for 60 years. Stella also worked at the Model Laundry and the Cascadian Hotel Laundry. She was very active in school PTA, worked on bond drives during World War II, election committees and was a member of Holy Apostles Catholic Church. She was very family oriented and spent a lot of time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also hosted a family reunion at their ranch every year. Survivors include her two daughters and their husbands, Betty and Bruce Davidson of Olympia, and Joyce and Ted Morehouse of Wenatchee; her six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; her two sisters, Huella Smith of Ephrata, and Peggy Lawrence of Oak Harbor; her sister-in-law, Tillie Paukowich of Wenatchee; and her numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, in October of 1990, her parents, by two sisters and by two brothers. Arrangements are by Jones and Jones Funeral Directors of Wenatchee. STELLA IRENE PAUKOWICH - A Mass of the Resurrection will be held for Stella I. Paukowich, 83, on Monday, June 24, 1996 at 11:00 a.m. at the Holy Apostles Catholic Church of East Wenatchee. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Father Seamus Kerr will officiate the service. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday, June 23, 1996 at 5:00 p.m. at the Colonial Chapel of Jones & Jones Funeral Chapel. If desired, memorials may be made in Mrs. Paukowich's name to the Holy Apostles Catholic Church and/or the Arthritis Foundation. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones Funeral Directors of Wenatchee.
