Jefferies and daughter of the late John Ashby Richbourg and the late Ida Crawford Richbourg. Montgomery St., died Thursday, Aug. 22, 2002, in Upstate Carolina Medical Center. A native of Asheville, N.C., she was the widow of Edward R. Jefferies and daughter of the late John Ashby Richbourg and the late Ida Crawford Richbourg. Mrs. Jefferies was a retired bookkeeper and a member of First Baptist Church where she was a former secretary of the ages one, two and three children's Sunday School classes and a member of the Fidelis Sunday School class. She attended Grove Park School in Asheville and graduated from St. Genevive of the Pines High School in Asheville with honors. She was a graduate of Limestone College and a member of the French Huguenot Society, the American Red Cross and the Tuesday Woman's Club. She had served as a volunteer at the hospital since 1956. Surviving are five nieces, five nephews and her caregiver, Marilyn Smith. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jefferies was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kenley Richbourg, and a sister, Marshall Richbourg Bryson. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Oakland Cemetery, conducted by the Rev. Joel Sellers and Dr. Bobby Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Fidelis Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends today from 2-6 p.m. at the residence. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 E. Floyd Baker Blvd., Gaffney, S.C. 29340; or Upstate Carolina Volunteer Scholarship Fund, 1530 N.
