April 6, 1922 - Carroll Times - Stephen Finnegan, 65 years old, pioneer resident of Carroll county, died at his home at 816 North Court street about 6:30 o'clock yesterday morning, apoplexy being given as the cause of his death. For several months he had been troubled with hardening of the arteries and high blood pressure, but recently his health had improved, and he retired Tuesday night feeling even better than usual. Before retiring for the night Mr. Finnegan made plans to arise early the following morning. Mrs. Finnegan awakened to find him in distress. She was unable to arouse him from a condition of semi-consciousness and he died before medical aid could reach him. Mr. Finnegan was born in Irelnd and came to this country when about 17 years old. For a great many years he resided on a farm in Sheridan township, retiring a few years ago to move to town. He was one ot the best known citizens of the city, was a member of the Catholic church and of the Knights of Columbus. He and Miss Julia Newman were united in marriage 27 years ago. Besides his wife, he is survived by five children: John Finnegan, of Arcadia; Mrs. Leu Reinhart, of Dedham; Mrs. Henry Onken, of Ulmer, and Misses Agnes and Mae, who reside at home. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock at the St. Joseph church in Carroll.
