Description	:	Steven E. Nibbelink Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23 at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church in Peoria, Iowa for Steven E. Nibbelink, 82, formerly of Peoria. He passed away on Saturday morning, June 20 at the Iowa Lutheran Hospital. The Rev. Ronald Bouwkamp officiated with burial at the Peoria Cemetery. The Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Christian Opportunity Center. Steven was born on July 4,1904 in Jasper County, Iowa to Gerrit William and Hendrika Engbers Nibbelink. He attended schools in Jasper County and worked on the farm at an early age. Steven was born on July 4,1904 in Jasper County, Iowa to Gerrit William and Hendrika Engbers Nibbelink. He attended schools in Jasper County and worked on the farm at an early age. On January 2, 1930, he was united in marriage with Gertrude Vos near Peoria, Iowa. They spent almost their entire married life together farming in the New Sharon area. They spent a total of 56 years together on the farm. In 1986, they moved to Hilltop Manor North in Pella. Steven's health began to fail, and he spent time at Pella Community Hospital and Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Steven was a farmer and very proud of it. His family was very important to him, and his children, grand-children, and greatgrandchildren were a real source of joy to him. Steven was a faithful member of the Peoria Christian Reformed Church where he was baptized and made his profession of faith. He is survived by his wife Gertrude; his children and their spouses, Gorden and Bonnie Negen of Wyckoff, New Jersey; Ronald and Verla Jansen of Sully; and Gary and JoAnne Nibbelink of Springfield , Missouri. Steven also leaves twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three brothers, Albert of Pella; William of Des Moines; and Tony of Pella; four sisters, Henriette of Pella; Wilma Stursma of Pella; Ida Kloosterman of New Sharon; and Marie Schut of Pella. Steven was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Henry Nibbelink, and one grandson. (From The Pella Chronicle June 26, 1987)
