Description	:	CAMBRIDGE — Steven Lee Brakhahn, 60, of Arapahoe died Sunday, Jan. 15, 2017, at the Cambridge Memorial Hospital. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe with the Rev. Brett Hinrichs officiating. Burial will be at Hendley Cemetery. Steve grew up five miles northwest of Hendley with his family on the Chris Brakhahn Homestead. He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Hendley and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Arapahoe. He attended school through the eighth grade at Hendley Elementary School then graduated from Holbrook High School with the class of 1975. During and after high school, he helped Raymond Massey at his auto repair shop and farmed with his father. He also worked for Arapahoe and Bertrand Co-op before being a floater operator for Cargill were he enjoyed working with many area farmers. He then started driving his own truck, called “Little Dog Trucking,” which he operated for 23 years before having to stop for health reasons. He then helped Monte and Darren Warner truck during harvest time. Steve helped as head usher, trustee, Sunday school teacher and youth leader at Trinity Lutheran Church. He also enjoyed traveling with family, collecting John Deere memorabilia, and spending time with his two nieces and great-niece. Steve is survived by his mother, June Brakhahn of Arapahoe; sister, Thersa and husband William Shearer of Arapahoe; nieces, Ashley Marie and husband Alex Wyatt and their daughter Anastasia of Holdrege and Stephanie Shearer of Central City; and many relatives and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Clarence.
