Description	:	Steven Philip Diederich was born to Philip J. Diederich and Eunice “Swede” Ham Diederich on April 26, 1948, at Geneva, and passed away December 30, 2009, at Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, at the age of 61 years. He was an only child. Read More	Steven Philip Diederich was born to Philip J. Diederich and Eunice “Swede” Ham Diederich on April 26, 1948, at Geneva, and passed away December 30, 2009, at Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard, at the age of 61 years. He was an only child. Steve grew up on a farm southwest of Geneva, until the age of 36. He attended several rehabilitation agencies in Beatrice and Hastings. He moved to Lincoln in 1991, and attended the Community Alternatives of Nebraska Workshop, where he was employed until 2009. Steve lived in a couple of group homes and in 2001, he went to live in the home of Shelly Beam Reinhold with her family. He lived with them until August of 2009, when he moved to the Harvard Rest Haven in Harvard. Steve liked going on ARC vacations, going for walks, going shopping and out to eat. Steve loved visits with family and friends—anywhere there were people is where he wanted to be. Steve enjoyed talking about his family and his times growing up on the farm. He attended many family reunions with his extended family, Shelly Beam Reinhold and became a part of her family at reunions, holidays and everyday life. Steve is preceded in death by his father and mother, Philip and Eunice “Swede” Diederich and by Paul Diederich. He is survived by his cousins, Richard “Bud” Ham and his wife, Sharlet, Dwight Ohs and his wife, Sara Lee, Peggy Stewart, Wanda Ham Hanson and her husband, Marvin, and Bill Thompson and his wife, Elaine; special friends, Shelly Beam Reinhold and her husband, Dale, and her three sons, Rob, Nate and Brennan McDonald. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer and Son Funeral Home in Geneva, on January 4th, with the Rev. Ron Harris officiating. Musical selections for the service were “Home” and “Amazing Grace.” Casket bearers were Rodger Richards, Blaine Richards, Larry Ohs, Mark Hanson, Chris Hanson and Gene Keasling.
