Description	:	Mrs. Susan Alice Hafner, Marshall county pioneer and long-time Marysville resident, died Monday, August 10, 1959, at Kraemer rest home. She had been in ill health for several months following an injury she suffered in a fall in a local store. Mrs. Hafner was born February, 4, 1869 in Monroe, Wis., and moved to a farm northeast of Marysville many years ago. Her maiden name was Susan Alice Walters, and she was the last member of the family. She was married April 1, 1885 to John V. Hafner who preceded her in death July 24, 1934. Surviving are: Her children, Mrs. Clarence (Pauline) Koken, Higginsville, Mo.; Henry J. Hafner and Mrs. Otto (Netta) Schwarz, Marysville; Frank Hafner, Fort Dodge, Iowa; Mrs. C. W. (Mabel) Moore, Beattie; Leroy J. Hafner, Marysville; 10 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, six brothers and three sisters. Funeral services were held yesterday at the First Christian church with the Rev. Gerald E. Housh, pastor officiating. Burial was in the Marysville cemetery. She was a member of the Christian Church. Pallbearers were Francis Hardman, George Moser, G. C. Eley, Clarence Reed, Ed Zarynichy and Francis Warfel.
