Wallace, whose maiden name was Catherine Bryan, was born September 15, 1858, in Green County, Indiana, died at her home at 320 East Fourteenth Street, Concordia, on Saturday, August 29, 1925. She came with her family to Kansas in 1878, where they lived for about a year, then moving to Marshall county, where they remained also for about a year, then coming to Cloud county, taking up their residence in Arion township. Wallace, whose maiden name was Catherine Bryan, was born September 15, 1858, in Green County, Indiana, died at her home at 320 East Fourteenth Street, Concordia, on Saturday, August 29, 1925. She came with her family to Kansas in 1878, where they lived for about a year, then moving to Marshall county, where they remained also for about a year, then coming to Cloud county, taking up their residence in Arion township. In 1881, on January 31, she was married to Morgan J. Wallace and they made their home on the farm in Arion township which they still own. They moved to Dewey county, Oklahoma, in 1894, where they remained until 1901, when they came back to their home in Arion, coming to Concordia to live in 1917. She had been in poor health for several years, but until one month ago was not considered to be in a dangerous condition. Funeral services were held at the United Brethren church, of which she was devoted and highly esteemed member, the services being conducted by the pastor, Rev. B. C. Eutsler, and burial was in Pleasant Hill cemetery. She is survived by her husband and the following named children: Carrie E. Nelson, of Concordia; Morgan B., of Pueblo, Colorado; Earl I., of Lovewell, Wyoming; Ira Bruce, of Hemet, California; and Dewey, of Belleville, Kansas. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and the following sisters and brothers; Woodford Bryan, Cal Bryan, and Walter Bryan all of Thomas, Oklahoma; Harvey Bryan, of Lamar, Colorado; Friel Bryan, of Ashton, S. D.; and Mrs. Mary Silix, of Perkins, Okla. All of the old neighbors of the family, who were intimately acquainted with the deceased speak in the highest terms of praise for her as a devoted wife and loving mother. The family has the sincere sympathy of the people of this community in their sad bereavement.
