Her passing was attributed to cancer of the liver. Susan Elizabeth Burt was born at Ontario, Canada on April 2, 1870 and died at Creighton, Nebraska on July 8, 1927 at the age of 57 years, 4 months and six days. Her passing was attributed to cancer of the liver. Susan Elizabeth Burt was born at Ontario, Canada on April 2, 1870 and died at Creighton, Nebraska on July 8, 1927 at the age of 57 years, 4 months and six days. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of one year. In the year 1884, she came to Knox county and has resided here continuously. She was united in marriage to Nathaniel Nihart on September 12, 1888 and to this union two children were born, Mabel, the oldest living at Bonesteel, S.D. and Maudie preceded her in death at the age of 23 years. The deceased was a kind and loving woman and was especially attentive to her neighbors in time of sickness. Her splendid character endeared her to all with whom she came in contact. she lived a Christian life and was an ardent member of the Methodist church. Funeral services were held from the M.E. church on Sunday morning at 11 o'clock in charge of the pastor, Rev. Littrell. The church was filled with friends who came to pay their final respects. The remains were tenderly laid to rest in the Greenwood cemetery. Mrs. Nihart leaves to mourn, besides her husband and daughter, two brothers and four grandchildren. To the bereaved family, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to them in this time of great grief. ...The Creighton News 14 July 1927
