Description	:	Passing of a Pioneer Nathaniel Nihart, one of the early pioneers of Creighton, passed away at his home in this city on Friday at 12:30 p.m. His death was attributed to summer flu and old age. The deceased was born September 7, 1853 in Illinois and died on October 12, 1928 at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 5 days. Read More	Passing of a Pioneer Nathaniel Nihart, one of the early pioneers of Creighton, passed away at his home in this city on Friday at 12:30 p.m. His death was attributed to summer flu and old age. The deceased was born September 7, 1853 in Illinois and died on October 12, 1928 at the age of 75 years, 1 month and 5 days. He came to Nebraska in his young manhood and engaged in farming in Knox county. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Susan Burt at Creighton, Nebr. This union was blessed with two daughters, Mrs. Mabel Rustemeyer of Bonesteel, S.D. and Maud Nihart, the latter dying on June 14, 1919. Mr. Nihart had been in poor health since the loss of his wife on July 7, 1927 and had gradually grown worse, until sickness claimed him. He affiliated with and supported the Methodist church and lived his quiet, unassuming life. The deceased was a devoted husband and father and what he cherished most was his home. Besides the daughter, Mr. Nihart leaves to mourn one brother, Albion and one sister, Mrs. Lora Lurcetia Mark, both of Creighton and other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on last Sunday from the Methodist church at 2 o'clock and were conducted by the pastor, Rev. Kuhler. The church was overflowing with friends who had come to pay their final tribute to this esteemed citizen. The remains were laid to rest in Greenwood cemetery, beside his wife.
