Description	:	Mrs. Susan Shipton, Green Mountain, Dies Mrs. Susan Shipton, 88, a resident of Marshall county since 1865, died at her home in Green Mountain at 5 a.m. Friday. She had been in failing health the past six years and was bedfast the past month. She was born in Washington county, Maryland, Aug. 19, 1850. Read More	Mrs. Susan Shipton, Green Mountain, Dies Mrs. Susan Shipton, 88, a resident of Marshall county since 1865, died at her home in Green Mountain at 5 a.m. Friday. She had been in failing health the past six years and was bedfast the past month. She was born in Washington county, Maryland, Aug. 19, 1850. The family moved to Illinois settling in Ogle county, near Freeport, and in March, 1865, when she was 14 years old they came to Iowa and settled on a farm two and one half miles east of Green Mountain, where she lived until her marriage to William Shipton, Jan. 14, 1875, at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Lynch. Following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Shipton moved to a farm located one-half mile from her parents' home, which Mr. Shipton has purchased. This was their home until their retirement 24 years ago when they moved to Green Mountain. Mr. Shipton died July 12, 1925. Mrs. Shipton is survived by seven children, Mrs. Eva Randall of Albion, Mrs. W. C. Cook of Pocatello, Idaho, Charles Shipton of Allison, John Shipton, Roy Shipton and Mrs. J. T. Nervig, all of Green Mountain, and Mrs. Harry Coleman of Burlington, Col.; three brothers and one sister, Mrs. Mary T. Buihner of this city, Jeff Lynch of Grundy Center, C. R. Lynch and John Lynch of Green Mountain; 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Mrs. Shipton was a member of the Green Mountain Congregational church in her earlier life. Funeral arrangements will be completed upon word from relatives.
