She was born February 5, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Bernard and Edna Anderson Woodall. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1962. Susan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holton. She loved the Holton community and was active with various organizations, her church, and the Chamber of Commerce. Mencl, 78, of Holton, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born February 5, 1944 in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Bernard and Edna Anderson Woodall. She graduated from Wetmore High School in 1962. Susan was a member of the First Baptist Church in Holton. She loved the Holton community and was active with various organizations, her church, and the Chamber of Commerce. Susan had worked at the Holton USD 336 Superintendent's Office, Anderson Construction, and the Denison State Bank. In 1984 she opened The Store, which later became the E.Z. Shop. She also managed Fast Trax for twenty-seven years and helped at BNB accounting during tax season. She married first in May of 1961. They were divorced. She married again in June of 1993. He survives. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Dennis McDaniel and her sister, Linda Ireland. Other survivors include a daughter, a son, a step-daughter, a step-son, eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 26th at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton. Family and friends will meet from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Holton Cemetery.
