Description	:	Mrs. Simon Scholten, nee Suzie Klein, died at her home in Alton after an illness of many months. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Reformed Church, with interment in the local cemetery. Born at Hospers, Iowa May 23rd, 1908 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Klein, she had reached the age of 49 years, 6 months and 2 days. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the First Reformed Church, with interment in the local cemetery. Born at Hospers, Iowa May 23rd, 1908 to Mr. and Mrs. Joe Klein, she had reached the age of 49 years, 6 months and 2 days. When she was nine years old she lost her mother, and her father died when she was 13 years old. At that age she was taken into the home of her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Klein of Alton, together with a younger brother, Robert. She was the oldest of four orphan children. She was married April 17, 1930 to Simon Scholten of Alton and this union was blessed with one son, David, now a sophomore in high school. Surviving are her husband and son; one sister, Henrietta, Mrs. Norman Heemstra of Santa Rosa, Calif. who was unable to come for the funeral one account of illness in the family; William of Sioux Falls, S.D. and Bob of Des Moines.
