Description	:	Susan Knudson, age 77, of Bottineau, died on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in a Minot hospital. Susan Knudson, a daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Boley) Samels, was born on January 23, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN. At a young age, she moved with her family to Fargo, ND and attended Shanley School graduating in 1957. Susan attended UND graduating in 1961 with a Speech Language Therapist Degree. Read More	Susan Knudson, age 77, of Bottineau, died on Saturday, August 13, 2016 in a Minot hospital. Susan Knudson, a daughter of Raymond and Ruth (Boley) Samels, was born on January 23, 1939 in Minneapolis, MN. At a young age, she moved with her family to Fargo, ND and attended Shanley School graduating in 1957. Susan attended UND graduating in 1961 with a Speech Language Therapist Degree. Later that year, she was married to Kenneth Erdman. They moved to Willow City. Susan began working in Bottineau as a Speech Therapist. In 1963, they built their house near Willow City. Ken passed away in 1969. In 1978, she married Allen Knudson in Willow City. They lived in Willow City until 1986 when they moved their house east of Bottineau. Susan retired in the late 90's. On June 14, 2011, Allen passed away. She has continued to make Bottineau her home. She enjoyed teaching, baking, sewing, gardening, canning and especially reading. Susan had a love of dogs, especially black lab's, always having one around the farm. She was a member of the United Parish and was instrumental in starting the Women's Investment Group in Bottineau. She is survived by a son, John (Cindy) Erdman of Willow City; a daughter, Katy Hughes of Pine, CO; step sons, Keith (Mary) Knudson, Brad (Margo) Knudson, Bruce (Sarah) Knudson and Brian (Tammy) Knudson all of Bottineau; a step-daughter, Debbie (Bill) Busta of Wilmer, MN; 18 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mary (Dave) Pease of Houston, TX. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Ken and Allen; a grandson and a great-grandson. Nero Funeral Home
