Engle, October 8, 1870, who preceded her to the spirit world about four years ago. To this union were born six children, Irvin and Norman of Navarre, Edwin of Pearl, Mrs. Annie Summers of Peabody, Alice, who died in infancy in Pennsylvania and Reuben of Hope. Read More	OBITUARY Mrs. Susan E. Engle was born near Mount Jay, Penn., June 14, 1846 She was united in marriage to Leander L. Engle, October 8, 1870, who preceded her to the spirit world about four years ago. To this union were born six children, Irvin and Norman of Navarre, Edwin of Pearl, Mrs. Annie Summers of Peabody, Alice, who died in infancy in Pennsylvania and Reuben of Hope. Those living are all in Kansas. The family moved from Pennsylvania to Dickinson county, Kansas in 1881 onto a farm about 2 miles south of the Belle Springs church, where they lived until about 14 years ago, when they moved to the present home, with the exception of a short interval in which they lived in Salina. The last two months of her life because of failing health she spent with her daughter at Peabody. There she peaceably passed away, February 23, 1924, at the age of 77 years, 8 months and 9 days. Deceased is also survived by two brothers, Frank and Peter Kraybill of Mount Jay, Penn., and 12 grandchildren. The family feels unable to express their appreciation of the faithfulness and devotion of their now departed mother, whose influence will no doubt be telling in its effects on the future lives of the family. Services were held in the home in Navarre and later at the Belle Springs church with burial by the side of her husband, Monday afternoon, February 25 conducted by Bishop Jacob N. Mrs. Engle is well known in this community, around Navarre and in other parts of the county, having been a resident of Dickinson county for more than 35 years.
