She was the daughter of George GEISE (1791/1861) husband of her mother, Susanna Gassert (1795/1863) of Jackson Twp., Lebanon Co. PA and so she was surely named after her beloved mother. Susanna Geise Lyon's grandfather, Jacob Gassert (d. 1799) husband of Catharine DUPS (d.1822), patented the Hough/Dups/ Gasser family land in 1788 as "Liverpool" farm tract, about 178-183 acres on Little Swatara Creek, near Jonestown, PA.
