Funeral in Trumbull Geneva. October 3. Yesterday while Mrs. Susanna Sprague of this place was visiting at the home of Elzer Loomis of Windsor, she opened a door, and mistaking it for a bedroom, fell down a steep flight of stairs. She lived but an hour, although the best medical aid was promptly summoned. This news came very sad to her many friends in Geneva, as she was in her usual health and wrote the other day tha she was very hapy this fall, and hoping to return to Geneva in a short time. She had been absent from here almost four weeks, visiting friends in the south part of the county, where she was born 74 years ago. She had always lived in Ashtabula county, and during the past 10 years had made her home with her daughter Mrs. A. J. Wood of Centennial street. Her husband, John Sprague, died about twenty years ago and is buried in Hartsgrove, consequently, the remains of the deceased will not be brought back to Geneva for the funeral service, which is to be held at the home of her brother Merritt Holcomb, in Trumbull, on Friday afternoon at one o'clock. The facts as learned by Geneva friends yesterday are that Mrs. Sprague was sitting knitting and after saying something about the work in which she was engaged, she stepped quickly to the cellar door, thinking it to be a bedroom, and before the mistake could be noticed she had fallen the full length to the floor. The deceased is a sister of Edson Holcomb of Jefferson. The funeral will be conducted by Rev. G. L. Cook of the Park street Church of Christ, she being a member of that church.
