Description	:	Thursday March 17, 1949 – Wayland News Mrs. William Kauffman passed away in her home about 6:15 Tuesday evening at the age of 73. Even though her health had not been good for the past two years, she was seriously ill only two days. Sunday she suffered a heart attack and on Tuesday her condition became worse. Funeral services were held this Thursday afternoon at 2:00 PM at the Wayland Mennonite Church with Rev. E. S. Mullett and Rev. J. J. Pritchard in charge. Interment will be made at North Hill Cemetery. Mrs. A. C. Wenger was the soloist accompanied by Mrs. Edward Wittrig. Her grandsons, Don, Dean, and LeDru Kauffman and Billy Hileman and her nephews, Ronald and Gilford Roth, served as pall bearers. The arrangements were in charge of Zehr funeral home. She was born January 17, 1876 at Wheatland Missouri. On December 22, 1898 she was united in marriage with William Kauffman. They celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary just last December. Besides her husband, Mrs. Kauffman is survived by seven children, Ralph of Coppack, Max, Harold, Mrs. Allen Meyer, Mrs. Everett Hileman, and Mrs. Edlred Berkshire all of Wayland, and Mrs. Peter Alliman of Fargo, North Dakota. Besides grandchildren and great-grandchildren she is survived by one brother, John Nofziger of Phoenix and four half sisters, Mrs. Mattie Roth of Mt. Pleasant, Mrs. Sarah Rychener of Pettisville, Ohio, Mrs. Ann Klopfenstein of West Unity, Ohio and Mrs. Minnie Widmer of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.
