In 1833 she, with her parents, removed to Crawford County, Ohio, and settled near the present town of Sycamore in what is now known as Wyandot County, the country was wilderness, with but few white people-but there were plenty of Indians, in fact Indian children were the frequent playmates of her younger brothers and sister. Read More	Published in the Democratic Northwest and Henry County News, June 10, 1897: Hudson. -Susannah Eystone Hudson was born in Green Township, near Kingston, Ross County, Ohio, May 25th 1820. In 1833 she, with her parents, removed to Crawford County, Ohio, and settled near the present town of Sycamore in what is now known as Wyandot County, the country was wilderness, with but few white people-but there were plenty of Indians, in fact Indian children were the frequent playmates of her younger brothers and sister. On March 11th, 1841, she was married to her husband, Harrison Hudson, In October 1844, they removed to the wilds of Henry County, an almost unbroken wilderness and they literally had to chop their way to their land, and here they began to hew out a home for themselves and their paternity. Six children were born to them - four sons and two daughters; one son and one daughter preceding their mother to the Spirit World. Mrs. Hudson early in life became a Christian and united with the M. E. Church, but during the troubles of the Civil War the class to which she belonged became scattered and she then united with the Christian Union Church, of which she was ever a faithful, consistent member. She was a faithful wife, a true mother and a true friend. She lived to see her children grow to manhood and womanhood, honored and respected, the surest tokens of wishes of a true and loving mother. She departed this life May 26th, 1897; aged 77 years and 1 day. Funeral services were held at Olive Chapel in Liberty Township, near the home she helped to make, Rev. Swank of the M. E. Church of this city officiating, and her remains were laid to rest in Forest Hill Cemetery. Among those from abroad who attended the funeral of Mrs. Hudson were her son Rev. H. Hudson of Caldwell, O., B. Hudson of Toledo, J. C. Eyestone of Sycamore, O., and Omar Hudson of Paulding, O.
