Description	:	The Daily Democrat, Huntington, IN, Monday, Sep. 18, 1893 Susannah, daughter of Owen and Christena Shiveley, was born in Washington Co., Penn., Jan. 15, 1804. When she was two years old she with her parents moved to Stark Co., Ohio. At the age of 18, she was married to Joseph Eikenberry, and moved to Preble Co., Ohio. To them were born nine children--four sons and five daughters. She lived with him, a faithful companion, for 18 years, when he was removed by death; also a little son, 7 years old, both of whom were placed in the... Read More	The Daily Democrat, Huntington, IN, Monday, Sep. 18, 1893 Susannah, daughter of Owen and Christena Shiveley, was born in Washington Co., Penn., Jan. 15, 1804. When she was two years old she with her parents moved to Stark Co., Ohio. At the age of 18, she was married to Joseph Eikenberry, and moved to Preble Co., Ohio. To them were born nine children--four sons and five daughters. She lived with him, a faithful companion, for 18 years, when he was removed by death; also a little son, 7 years old, both of whom were placed in the same grave. She lived a widow for thirteen years, when she was again married, to Solomon Sparks, with whom she lived only seven months. In 1829 she united with the German Baptist church, of which she continued a faithful member until her death. She was always an incessant bible reader. She ever tried to grow in the christian graces, and live the life of the righteous. On the morning of Sept. 2, 1893, she passed away quietly and gently, leaving two brothers, two sisters, two sons, one daughter, 37 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Aged 89 years, 7 months and 17 days. Mrs. Sparks was well known in Huntington county and a wide circle of friends mourn her death.
