Description	:	Susie Cox was born March 7, 1888, in Warwick Township, Ontario, Canada to Richard Cox and Mary Ann Hall. The family immigrated in August 1893 to Bottineau, North Dakota, USA when her father homesteaded near Westhope a few miles northeast of her future husband's father's homestead. They travelled from Ontario to Bottineau by train and stagecoach. The family did not live on the homestead although her father made improvements and used it for hay. The family immigrated in August 1893 to Bottineau, North Dakota, USA when her father homesteaded near Westhope a few miles northeast of her future husband's father's homestead. They travelled from Ontario to Bottineau by train and stagecoach. The family did not live on the homestead although her father made improvements and used it for hay. Sus and her mother lived in Bottineau where Mary Ann owned a boarding house. Sus worked for her future mother-in-law near Westhope as live-in household help. Immediately after their marriage in 1907, Art and Sus homesteaded near Froid, Montana, USA before Froid was incorporated. They lived in a sod house for the first two years, even in the winter, while improving the land and setting foundations. In the 1920s, they built a house in Froid and wintered in town. Art and Sus loved to travel and drove many thousands of miles visiting friends and family across the US and Canada. Art and Sus raised their family in Froid, two sons and four daughters.
