She was the daughter of the late Henry S. Koehn. She grew to womanhood and received her schooling in the vicinity of Halstead, Kansas. Read More	Obituary from the Messenger of Truth Issue 14, 1946: Mrs. Susie Shuler (nee Koehn) was born in McPherson County, Kansas, July 25, 1895, and passed away at the Bethel Hospital, Newton, Kansas, June 15, 1946, reaching the age of 50 years, 10 months and 20 days. She was the daughter of the late Henry S. Koehn. She grew to womanhood and received her schooling in the vicinity of Halstead, Kansas. When 20 years old she was convicted of her sins and felt the need of the Savior, repented and found peace with God, upon the confession of her faith was baptized and affiliated with the Church of God in Christ, Mennonite in April 1916. On April 27, 1939 she was married to Otto Shuler. They made their home in Newton, later purchasing a home in Wichita where they lived a few years, returning to Newton in Nov. of last year. A few years ago she had a severe attack from which she never fully recovered, yet so much that she could be about doing her daily work. The later part of May she had another attack and was taken to Bethel Hospital where medical aid and loving care were given her. Her suffering was very severe at times, yet she bore it very patiently and never a word of complaint was uttered. She had her struggles in her Christian life, but during her sickness she earnestly sought the face of God, receiving that full assurance that all was well with her soul. After 2 weeks of suffering she peacefully fell asleep. She leaves to mourn her departure; her bereaved husband, 4 brothers Enos Koehn, Lamar, Kansas; Ezias Koehn, Halstead, Kansas; Peter Koehn, Hampton, Nebr.; Eli Koehn, McPherson, Kansas; and 4 sisters Mrs. Minnie Koehn and Mrs. Lena Luginbill of Burrton, Kansas; Mrs. Elizabeth Koehn and Mrs. Lydia Schmidt of Halstead, Kansas; and a host of relatives and friends. Father, Mother, 1 brother and 2 sisters preceeded her in death. Funeral services were held in the Grace Mennonite Church, Tuesday June 18. Opening remarks and prayer by Minister Carl Dirks. Text by Minister Harry D. Wenger, Romans 3:10,11,13; Heb. 9:27,28. Interment was made in the Halstead Cemetery. Contributor: Jcarter
