Description	:	Suzanne Marie King (Torberson), age 75, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota passed away peacefully at her home on October 14, 2021. Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home in Sioux Falls, SD, on Saturday, October 23 at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 10:30 AM. Suzanne was born to Clifford and Bernice (Chaon) Torberson on November 26, 1945, and grew up on a farm in rural Canton, South Dakota. She was raised at Grand Valley Lutheran Church, attended Lantaff District 26 (a rural one room school), and graduated from Canton High School in 1963. Suzanne was united in marriage to Larry K. King on April 29, 1967 and lived in Sioux Falls until her passing. After graduating from Nettleton College, she enjoyed a long career working hard and making great relationships throughout the community including Linwood Wesleyan Church, Salvation Army, Sioux International, and the Good Samaritan Society. She was enthusiastically involved in her children's many sports, school, and church activities while they were growing up. She enjoyed baking, going to airshows, volunteering on the election board, researching family history, and traveling to new places including a trip to Norway to visit family and her heritage. Her greatest passion was the living museum and preservation of Grand Valley School District 12 where she was a longstanding member of the board of the Rural School Historical Society charged with continuing the legacy of the one room school era. Most of all her pride and joy were her two grand daughters. Thankful for having shared her life, she is survived by her mother, Bernice; husband, Larry; two sons, Ricci and LeShon (Mary); two grand daughters, MacKenzie and Brianna; brother Carrol (Joyce); and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Clifford; brothers, Leonard and Brian. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials directed to the Rural School Historical Society.
