She passed away on May 7, 2004 at the Nelson Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, NE at the age of 93 years, 4 months and 7 days. Upon earning a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and English from UNL. Sydney was married on June 21, 1936 to Maury B. Campbell. Maury passed away on May 30, 1975. Dr. T.E. Schoeni "Doc" and Sydney were married in Mission, KS on November 15, 1980 and made their home in McCook, NE. On March 2, 1992, Sydney lost her second husbnd. After a short illness she then moved to the Good Samaritan Center in Nelson, NE on March 13, 2001. Sydney was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, three brothers, Gaylord, Paul and Raymond Chase and two sisters, Helen Keliehor and Audrey Howie. She is survived by her children, Jean Keifer and husband Bob of Guide Rock, NE; Robert Campbell and wife Leslie of Fairfax, VA; and Scott Campbell and wife Carol of Lawrence, KS. She is also survived by her step-daughter, Mary Lynn Stayton and husband Tom of Gunnison, CO. 12 grandchildren, Michael Keifer, Sue Epp, Linda DeLong, James Keifer, Andrew Campbell, Jeff Campbell, John Campbell, Sara Campbell, Parviz Campbell, Bahia Campbell, Shannon Stayton and Lindsey Stayton. 5 great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Pattie, Rylee Epp, Keely Epp, Thomas DeLong and Todd Keifer along with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at 3:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, NE with Pastor Dorthea Fairbanks officiating. Music was provided by Carlita Erickson, Organist. Pallbearers were Robert Campbell, Scott Campbell, Michael Keifer, James Keifer, Cliff DeLong, and Gary Epp. Eastern Star services were conducted by the Olive Chapter #63 of Superior.
