Description	:	Dick Greentree was born in Calgary and grew up in Drumheller, moving to Wembley with his Dad and brothers after his mothers death. They moved to Grovedale where he filed for homestead as well, but after marrying Iola Stephen he decided the north side of the Wapiti would be better and they moved to Dimsdale. He had been working for the Stephen's sawmill in winter and farming in summer where he met and fell for Gavin Stephen's daughter Iola. They were married in 1930 in Clairmont. Read More	Dick Greentree was born in Calgary and grew up in Drumheller, moving to Wembley with his Dad and brothers after his mothers death. They moved to Grovedale where he filed for homestead as well, but after marrying Iola Stephen he decided the north side of the Wapiti would be better and they moved to Dimsdale. He had been working for the Stephen's sawmill in winter and farming in summer where he met and fell for Gavin Stephen's daughter Iola. They were married in 1930 in Clairmont. When WWII broke out Dick enlisted but was given a medical discharge due to his flat feet. This for a man who walked miles every day of his life to stay in shape. So to do his part Dick went back to Drumheller and worked in the coalmines, leaving Iola to take care of the family during his absence. They farmed in Dimsdale for years until Dick suffered a heart attack at which point they sold the farm and moved into Grande Prairie. They lived in the house there, him growing a large garden and doing woodworking, her baking buckets of cookies, until deciding to retire to sunny Salmon Arm, BC. They built a brand new house there and lived happily until Dick's passing.
