The son of William [sic] and Sarah Cornell, he as born November 1, 1862, in Jefferson county. Besides Mrs. Ware, he is survived by a son, Harold Cornell, Bell Gardens, Calif.; nine other daughters, Mrs. Gladys Brown, Fairfield, Mrs. Lucille Lyons, Fairfield, Mrs. Irene Christie, Baldwin Park, Calif., Mrs. Laura McElroy, Ottumwa, Mrs. Nellie Anderson, Los Angeles, Mrs. Esther Garrison, Fairfield, Mrs. Mary Murray, Ladonia, Tex., Mrs. Ruth Hall, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Doris Mealey, Los Angeles; 42 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Chloe Miller, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Aletha, and a son, George. William Gahm, pastor of the Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in the Shaul cemetery.
