Cornell, 66, of 108½ North Davis street, died Friday at 9:10 p.m. at the University hospitals in Iowa City where she had been a patient for the past 16 days. The daughter of William and Mary Corr, she was born November 16, 1883 in Jefferson county. Her marriage to Sylvenus Cornell took place October 11, 1904 [sic]. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren. Mrs. Cornell is survived by her husband; one son, Harold Cornell of Bell Gardens, Calif.; 10 daughters, Mrs. John Ware, Mrs. Rex McElroy, and Mrs. Walter Hall, all of Ottumwa, Mrs. Clifford Brown, Mrs. Dale Lyons and Mrs. Wilford Garrison, all of Fairfield, Mrs. Charles Christie of Arcadia, Calif., Mrs. Ted Anderson of Los Angeles, Mrs. Edward Murray of Friend, Kan., and Mrs. Harry Mealey of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Roy Black of Ottumwa; and 41 grandchildren. Her parents, five brothers, one sister, and one son, George, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. C.A. Albin of the Church of the Brethren. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
